The company was founded in 1944, and managed their own payroll until first outsourcing to myPay Solutions in late 2007. Prior to the recent economic downturn in Michigan, Spicer Group required payroll for 150 full and part-time employees. Since then, that number has dropped to approximately 110. There are several seasonal employees on staff throughout the year and there is never a problem adding or removing staff.
